Night guards
Worn while you sleep to protect your teeth from grinding and clenching.
Many people clench or grind without knowing it until their jaw aches or their teeth start to wear. A custom-fitted guard puts a cushion between your teeth, and we'll explain your options before anything is made.
No pressure. No judgment. Treatment is always your choice.

A night guard is a custom-fitted device worn over your teeth while you sleep to cushion them from clenching and grinding, which can cause jaw soreness, headaches and worn teeth. Sports mouthguards protect teeth during contact sports. Your dentist checks for wear, explains your options, and has the guard made to fit your bite.

You'll know what your guard costs and what your insurance may cover before we take impressions.
Guards are shaped to your bite so they're comfortable enough to actually wear every night.
We check the fit in person and adjust it until it sits right.
A guard may help if any of this sounds familiar.
No pressure. No judgment. Treatment is always your choice.
Your guard is made from impressions of your own teeth, not boiled and bitten at home.
You'll hear the price and your coverage before we start.
If we notice wear or other concerns, we explain what we see. What you do next is your choice.
If it rubs, pinches or feels loose, bring it back and we'll adjust it.
Getting a custom guard usually takes a couple of short visits.
Tell us what you're noticing: jaw pain, headaches, worn teeth, or a sport you play. We take a look and explain what may be going on.
We capture the shape of your teeth so your guard is made to fit your bite.
When it's ready, we check the fit in the chair and adjust it until it's comfortable, then show you how to clean and store it.
Grinding and clenching (sometimes called bruxism) often happen during sleep, so many people don't realize they're doing it. Over time it can wear down enamel, chip teeth or dental work, and leave the jaw muscles sore.
A night guard doesn't stop the habit itself, but it takes the pressure so your teeth don't. If we see signs of wear at your exam, we'll point them out and talk through whether a guard makes sense for you.
Rinse your guard after each use, brush it gently, and keep it in its case when you're not wearing it. Bring it to your regular checkups so we can make sure it still fits well.
Common signs include waking up with a sore jaw or headache, teeth that look flatter or chipped, and new sensitivity. A dentist can check for wear at your exam and advise on your situation.
A custom guard is made from impressions of your teeth, so it usually fits closer and feels less bulky, which makes it easier to wear every night.
Some dental plans cover part of the cost. Our team can check your coverage and tell you what to expect before we begin.
Yes. Ultra Dental sees patients of all ages at every office, and a fitted mouthguard is a good idea for kids who play contact sports.
